Hello everyone! Today we were told that our final presentation is in 1 month! We are trying to keep up with our recipes as much as possible so please go check out all our new ones that are out and the ones that will soon be coming out! Also I recently posted a recipe that is egg-free chocolate cake, which I made for my little cousin who is allergic to eggs. As our final presentation is coming up we are trying to figure out a way to wrap up our project to put in in a 3-5 minute presentation. As we are nervous about this upcoming presentation we would like to try and think of the people we may have helped along the way of this project and use them to make us happy and no longer nervous. I know we haven't done much but we did the best we could. Thank you!

Over the few weeks we have decided to do certain things to start to wrap up our project. Such as to provide more for the community especially for the people with restrictions we decided to post 2 recipes each week over the next few weeks. Our first recipe for the next few weeks was made by Hannah and it is called Roasted Lemon-Thym Portobello Mushrooms, so go check that out now! Also our final presentation of this project is coming up so we decided that we need to decide how we are going to tie everything together. Also for our recipes they must all be different in some way so we can't to the same things over and over again. For my next recipe I will be making Egg-Free Chocolate Cake.
This week we didn't get to do much. As I said last week I was going to work my sausage supper. But as my family and I are finishing our basement we had to paint the ceiling and walls. Which took the whole day, therefore I wasn't able to work the supper. Although as far as I know the supper went really well! My team and I are planning on posting more recipes, but we just. have to plan how we are going to do it for the next week. So hopefully we have that planned out for next week. Like I said in the past few blogs I plan for my next recipe to be egg-free. Since my cousin is deathly allergic to eggs, I want to do it for her. Since I didn't get to work the sausage supper I plan on working the Easter breakfast at my church.
This week we talked about how we can reach out to more people. For example create hashtags and tag relevant people/groups. So we plan on putting these hashtags on our next posts. For example #glutenfree, #vegan, #vegetarian, and more. We also plan on making our own hashtag so people can tag the recipes they made from our blog, the hashtag is going to be #BrewtifulBrunch. One thing we did was make a twitter to reach out to more people. We also have a Instagram. Please consider following us on those, they are both under @brewtifulbrunch. This Sunday I get to help my church with our annual Sausage Supper. I will be handing out food to whoever comes to eat. I personally love getting to volunteer at my church as it always make me feel good. Like I said a few weeks ago my next recipe I plan on making some type of egg-free food.
This year I'm going to reach out to my church to find when I can help with our suppers. Last year when we started this project I didn't reach out to my church in which I should've. But this year for this project I will. Hopefully the other people in my group will reach out to their churches as well. Last year we started this project with a goal of posting every week with a different recipe. But as we could only plan out 4 recipes, 1 for each of us, we only posted 4 recipes. I'm happy that we could do that but I feel as we could do so much more for this new year as we get ready for our final presentation. I want to be able to talk about something good we did for our community and for my family as my cousin that is 2 years old has a severe egg allergy. This blog provides her mother (my aunt), things that have no eggs in them. So for my next recipe I plan to make a no-egg lasagna. So for this years resolution I hope to reach out to my church to help with our suppers.
This week we weren’t able to go to volunteer at the Hope Center for Thanksgiving as we were too late to sign up. But we do plan on volunteering at our own churches during the holiday season. I will be helping my church with dinners. Today I just posted my Vegan Gluten-Free Chocolate Ice Cream onto our recipes page. So please go check that out! We don’t currently have a specific goal, but we plan on meeting tomorrow to figure out our goal and plan future volunteering actives. Not last week, but the week before Hannah posted her recipe on Gluten-Free Banana Pancakes. So go check hers out on our recipe page. Tomorrow when we meet up we plan on discussing future events, such as a food drive, food donations, and volunteering. But with food drives or canned food drives, there are very many of them, so we want try to do something different.
Since time is hard to find with our group. We will most likely not be able to do the cooking class as it is way to hard to find time. We will in the future try volunteer work or even collect donations to give to our local Hope Center for those in need. So for now I will be looking for volunteer work we may be able to do as a group or even by myself. I know most of us volunteer for our churches. For example I prepare the ingredients and put them in a basket at my church so we can give them out to our struggling families. So I hope we can find time to do some volunteer work.
Time is our enemy. As one of our group members are in basketball season. They practice 7 days a week. Which is a struggle for us. And our other 3 group members are starting to practice with the soccer team, and also playing on an indoor soccer team. So time is very hard to find for us. I already struggle finding time just to do simple stuff, such as, doing homework, cleaning my room, doing laundry, etc. School and extracurricular activities take up most of my time and the other time outside of that I’m either, sleeping, eating, being sick, etc. So finding time to do a cooking class will be a struggle for us.
We didn’t get to get in contact with the Hope Center or churches to have the free cooking class. Our schedules are very busy as we are all in sports and I think we will not be able to do the cooking class. We are still deciding on whether or not we’re doing the cooking class as we are very busy. We have figured out that one of us will post every other week. So one person will post one week, then the next week someone else would post, and so on. We plan on starting to do these dietary restricted recipes the first week of November. Instead of the cooking class we may work at the Hope Center on Thanksgiving to either, sort the pantry, prepare meals, delivered meals, or help the deliverers put the meals in their cars for them to be delivered. The challenge for us will be getting in touch with the Hope Center so we can help with Thanksgiving.
I’m Hannah B and myself, Hannah S, Meredith, and Madelyn are doing the 20-time project together. I like to play soccer and tennis for Civic Memorial High School. I have also played basketball, softball, and swam in the past. This project requires us to do something beneficial to our community so we decided that we would benefit the community by making healthy cost efficient meals along with this we plan on making a blog full of dietary restriction recipes. We plan on uploading to the blog once every 2 weeks. One thing we want to try to do along with the blog is have a free cooking class. In the free cooking class we plan on having meals that are healthy and cost efficient. In this free cooking class we are going to try to get in contact with the Hope Center so we could do it there for low-income families. Also we could get in contact with some churches to help us get the ingredients for the meals, or we could also have the classes at the church. I hope we become successful with this although it may be hard as all of us are in school and church functions.
